Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos is the latest version of Samsung Galaxy Ace phone which was quite a popular phone. The Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos comes with the new features, it sports a dual SIM slot and it has 3 mega pixel camera (Samsung Galaxy Ace had a 5MP camera with LED flash). Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos is powered by 800 MHz scorpion processor and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.
Build and Design
The looks and design of Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos is same as the Galaxy Ace with the addition of an extra button for dual SIM configuration. It is having a dimension of 112.40 x 59.90 x 12.44mm and it weighs only 125 gms which is much similar as Samsung Galaxy Ace.
Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos has the 3.5 inch TFT full touchscreen with a pixel resolution of 320 x 480 and it also has 16M display colors.
Features and Performance
With the addition of a second SIM card slot you get more icons on the top of your screen and some more setting in the connectivity options. It also helps you to actively connect with your friends on both the numbers, even if only one SIM is in use, the other SIM also stays active.
But still the Galaxy Duos is powered by 800 MHz processor with 158 MB of internal memory and 278 MB of RAM. Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos got Samsung’s TouchWiz UI onboard and is sadly one of the slower phones in the market at this price range.
One of the best thing you really loved about Galaxy Duos is the media department. It has the same interface look that we saw on the Samsung Wave Y. It comes with 3D sound technology with 5.1 channel supported. One of the limitation of Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos is that, it can’t play 720p videos.
As we discussed above that Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos comes with Dual SIM slot and the amazing about this smartphone is that is supports both CDMA and GSM SIM. Both SIM’s can be active at the same time, but there’s is no Internet access for the GSM SIM card. So the thing which you can do with your secondary SIM card is make voice calls and send text messages. The Galaxy Duos also comes Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and GPS. The dedicated Dual SIM button let’s you quickly configure your network and SIM options.
The other option is that Galaxy Duos comes with EVDO Rev A, which in English means 3G CDMA, it’s super fast on CDMA but has no data connectivity on GSM.
The original Galaxy Ace had a 5MP camera with LED flash but the Galaxy Ace Duos comes with a 3MP camera. One thing is common in both the phones like the previous one, this is equally bad in terms of quality. It supports 320 x 240 pixels of video resolution so we can say that video quality is not so good.
The Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos comes with a 1650 mAh standard battery and it gives standby time up to 300 hours and talk time up to 430 minutes (approx 7 hours), which is quite good enough.
